My Age..My Hobby

My beloved wife and children were going back to her hometown to celebrate Eid Adha with her family.
Since I only have 1 day leave for this festive holiday I decide to let her drive the Wira and I will follow suit a day later by riding my seasoned Kawasaki ZSR (am I not also old either?).

I can drive my reliable LiteAce but as a matter of fact that all my in laws and niece will drive their cars and 4WD  and there is a space constraint to park I make my mind just riding since I will only have to bring my son who insist to go with me. This is not my first time to ride to my in-law parents home but this is the first time for my in-laws and niece to see me riding a 150cc motorcycle.

I can see their unbelieving eyes to learn that I  as a hardcore rider, with full face helmet, jacket, riding gloves and boots.  I have to answer lot of question mostly about my two wheels hobby that they did not aware before. Maybe it is all about my age.

I have to confess that it is not a normal habit for a person who is in my age to ride such a sport bike like Kawasaki ZSR 150. Mostly old man like me will ride a moped or scooter but please understand that as a true rider I have dreamed to own this kind of bike since my teenage years. And yes, my late father ever gave me the chance to buy a brand new one for me. I refuse because I feel guilty to have such a big bike on my college days and he have pay all the expenses for me. But I swear that I will have it one day with my own money.

And I only have that opportunity on my 43rd birthday. That is why I make everyone wonder. But 150 is not so big, I want to upgrade my licence to B Full.

You guessed it right! this bike is non road-legal. I intend to use it to scout into my palm and rubber trees and some time-killing moments over the forest nearby. Oh!! you can also see me riding it to the shop..haha seldomly just to heat up the engine.

My 2 Wheels Interest

My idea of travelling is not so much getting some places, but to know it. Driving through a town with the windows rolledup just isn't good enough.

I like to feel the rush of the wind, pull over when I see something that interest me, meet the people and find out how they feels about things. That way when I get to other side of town , I leave really knowing what it was like. Motorcycling is as much about freedom as it is tranportation. But like all freedoms, it carries responsiblity.

As a seasoned rider I have had quite a colorful experience whether it is bad or good one, fall into a ditch, rub to a trailer tyre and fell during manuevering a corner are part of it. As an adventerous guy I never say no if I got any opportunity to ride for a long journey. With my Yamaha 80 moped, I made several trip to Pahang and Negeri Sembilan. Years later in my college days I rode to Kelantan, the most northern-east part of Malaysian Peninsular. Most of it I done it lonelly aka solo riding but the most memorable memory is when I join the Trans-Malaysia Biking Adventure convoy, organised by Malaysian top bike Magazine, Roda-Roda.

Southern riders are scheduled to join it at Semabok, Melaka but I joined it at Perlis (this time, the most Northen part of Malaysia, next toThailand..) it is all with my reliable black Suzuki Best 110RR (which I was told acronym of Racing Replica haha..). To be frank, there's only 3 similar model of Best including me, most of the bike are Yamaha RXZ 135 and Suzuki Panther 150 others are true big bikes models up to 1500 from various made model. The journey ends to 8 Hours Endurance Race held at Pasir Gudang Johor.

As a rider I dreamed to have big bikes such as ZX10 (I am a Kawasaki fan). But for practicality reason I stick to mopeds. A week before my weeding occassion I traded my Best with a black Kawasaki K1 115. I ever lost that bike and using a Honda EX5 for not more than 2 months. I traded it to another K1, back to 2 stroke model again!. you can guess it, that I am a speed demon. When I recover my black K1 a year later I am a proud owner of 2 K1s. I gave the black one to my niece.

You probably never or hardly see this Kawasaki model elsewhere in Malaysia moreover its spare parts. That is why nobody or only a few people want keep this 'rare' bike. But you can be ensured that this small bike is on its own class if you talking about speed, stability and performance. I don't want to boast, but in my heyday I easily leave Yamaha SS110, Suzuki RGs and even Honda MBX 125 in the dust (these bike were fell down during speed-test with me).

I took back that black K1, I transform that moped into a motocross. Take a peek on it...

My First Attempt to teach Blogging

Today I got an opportunity to teach 55 girls students to create Blog at Medan Info Desa Kg Paya. 30 of them are Puteri UMNO of Simpang Renggam Division and the rest are younger female Chineses and Indians from of MCA and MIC, the Barisan Nasional coalition party. I was invited to teach this subject 2 days ealier when I pay a visit to Medan Info Desa (MID) Kg Paya to see its manager, Mr Kamarul Azman to order a used Tablet PC from his assistant Mr Muhayat. Without second thought, I accepted the offer although I had never teach that course before. The real challenge is to squeeze that number of trainer into the 15'X15' MID surfing hall and control the crowd..ha ha !!. I promise to do some research as the reward of his reliance to me. I feel appraised for that.

By 8.00 am I reaches to the MID, nobody's around except a banner on the wire fence that tell that programme is absolutely held today, soon 3 cars approaching, as they alight from the cars I saw almost all of them are lady in pink ...voila!! the Puteri's had arrived. I left the spot to see the Poco-Poco Dance at the Community Hall nearby...see the footage below !

Interesting? but I need to get back to MID.... Luckily Muhayat the MID Assistant had arrived. Together we move all the 13 Desktop PC around the wall so the white wide tiled-floor space left in the middle. It will be easier to cramp the remaining half of the trainers on that space. I know Kamarul almost never turn on both of his 1.5HP Panasonic Air-Cond simultanously... No! today I must break his rule to avoid overheating problem from the crowd later...I turn on both of it! Sorry Pals! Ahaa.. Mr. Kamarul, there you come... ohoo Bukit Tongkat is quite a distant from Layang-Layang rigth? No need to excuse to me... you are the boss here!

Heyyy!! it's already 9.00am the class should be started now! Okay all of you girls, you can get in right now! and this how I put them into the class, they even have to bring their own laptop and netbooks (most of them is the NBI's 1 Malaysia Netbook receiver ) to join us...

At the end, we consider that half day session had succeeded to nurture the interest of the younger generation in using their creativity to learn blog technology and its application. New talents were identified and the course itself had boosted the ICT literacy and the usage of computers to the mass public.

You can tell it from their smiling faces of satisfaction!

Thanks to the organiser; UMNO Bahagian Simpang Renggam, the host Medan Infodesa Kg Paya and all the kind participants for given me the opportunity to me as Pusat Jalur Lebar Komuniti Felda Bukit Permai trainer to share this great experience as the main instructor / Head Trainer.
